Arts Harassment Details Sought

Allen Ginsberg is seeking detailed information on all recent cases of alleged harassment of the arts by the City. Anyone who has received a summons for violations from the Buildings, License, or Fire Department in a coffee house, theatre, or for showing films is urged to write to Ginsberg in care of the Committee for Freedom of the Arts, 35 Cooper Square. With Diane di Prima, Ginsberg will then prepare a report for presentation to the New York City Office of Cultural Affairs.

[Each weekday morning, we post an excerpt from another issue of the Voice, going in order from our oldest archives. Visit our Clip Job archive page to see excerpts back to 1956.]
