Well, it was the Paris Commune all over again as the Picture the Homeless occupation of a vacant lot at 115th between Madison and Fifth was dispersed by cops around 5 p.m. and at least nine participants in the demo were arrested. Some music, chanting, and a "homeless fashion show" were managed before cops started issuing calls for dispersal. PTH's most recent blog entry , at 3:30 p.m., says "Police preparing to clear the occupied lot." And before the evening rush hour began in earnest, they did. JPMorgan Chase, which co-owns the lot with Caparra La Nueva Associates, L.P., refused to talk about it to the Times. PTH remains committed to turning dormant land into housing. "Inspiring day, more actions to come!" promises their Twitter feed.
