After Nightclub Outrage, New Racetrack Scandal for Paterson

This reminds the News of another track-related issue: the "racino" deal for Aqueduct that collapsed earlier this year. Albany is trying to revive the plan to bring video lottery machines to the track, and the paper decries the idea ("the 210-acre property in Ozone Park, vacant most of the year, would be far better used as a site for affordable housing or other economically beneficial purposes"), and also the lack of transparency in the bidding process. They tell Paterson to "take the blinders off," which given his vision problems seems a little insenstive.
Maybe Paterson really wants a lieutenant governor so he could go have a good time every once in a while without getting hassled.
