D.A. Candidates Keeping Busy, Here and at Martha's Vineyard

After we noted yesterday some gay-friendly endorsements in the Manhattan D.A.'s race, the office of candidate Leslie Crocker-Snyderr (pictured) notified us that she'd just received the backing of bigtime gay activist and writer David Mixner, who says she "has by far the longest and best record on progressive LGBT issues in the race. She's been there for us before and can be counted on." The other contenders haven't been sleeping, either. The magician David Blaine -- the guy in the block of ice -- has a fundraiser slated next week for Richard Aborn. And on Wednesday Cy Vance did a meet-and-greet at celebrity author/prosecutor Linda Fairstein's home in Chilimark on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Also in attendance were Caroline Kennedy, Alan Dershowitz, and TV producer Douglas Cramer (The Odd Couple, The Brady Bunch). "My parents bought property on Watcha Pond in the late 1970s or early 1980s," says Vance, "and we have been coming here ever since."
