Latest Foreign Endorsement for Bloomberg: Puerto Rico Governor

lfortuno.jpg
The out-of-town endorsements for Mayor Bloomberg keep rolling in. Having secured the backing of Colin Powell, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, Newark Mayor Corey Booker, Jose Feliciano, and other such like, Bloomberg now may boast of the support of Luis G. Fortuño, the Governor of Puerto Rico. El Gobernador, who is a Republican, called our Mayor "a leader who understands the diverse nature of the city, appreciates how invaluable it is, and works to ensure this diversity." The unemployment rate in PR is currently 16.5 percent; maybe Bloomberg promised to offshore some city jobs.

If Bill Thompson's serious, he'll go after Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez. But he better hurry: Bloomberg's been working him for years.
