Obama VFW Speech Gets Now-Traditional Gun-Toter, "Bo's"

Just caught a little of Obama's Phoenix VFW speech at the laundromat, and his spend-smarter theme seemed to be going over okay. But The Left - Watch What They Do Not What They Say informs us that "If today's reception by the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) to President Obama is any indication of the attitude towards him by the military he should watch his back. With very few applauds and several bo's the silence was deadly." Maybe CNN is supplementing the soundtrack, and screening out the bo's. The Associated Press says the President was "respectfully received" and Bloomberg didn't mention any obnoxious behavior, but they're liberal media.

There was also a guy with a couple of weapons outside the VFW Hall; police maintained a hand's-off approach, in honor of the Second Amendment, but were poised to act in case something went off. Presenting arms seems to be the new way of welcoming the President in some jurisdictions, much as Pacific Islanders used to greet visitors with colorful garlands. Photo via white house flickr.
