Some Coney Island Attractions Shut Down by Sitt for Late Rent

Categories: Coney, Featured
astrolandcrane.jpgIt's not going to be much of a weekend at Coney Island. Not only is the beach closed, so is Dreamland, that is, the passel of Coney amusements in what used to be Astroland Park. Developer Joe Sitt closed Dreamland down this morning for non-payment of rent. That takes 10 or 12 rides, vendors, and John Strong's sideshow off the table, and though you can still get to the Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel and Ruby's Bar, it will take a little of what's left of Coney's zip out of things. Gee, you'd almost thing Sitt was trying to make a mess out of Coney.
