Stumptown Red Hook Roastery Opens

Stumptown is all over New York these days -- even our little far-north-Greenpoint neighborhood has been penetrated -- and this weekend they held a little gala to celebrate the opening of their Red Hook Roastery in a converted artist's space at Commerce Street and Van Brunt, equipped with a giant, refurbished 1960 Probat roaster, two old GE iceboxes, and picturesque piles of burlap bags. They've got contracts to supply all over Brooklyn and are working on more. Locals are encouraged stop in and sample the wares.
