Wayne Barrett Internship Applications Now Being Accepted

The Voice is now taking applications from enrolled college students for Fall internships working with investigative reporter Wayne Barrett.

Wayne's interns help him research and report his stories, gaining extraordinary experience in investigative journalism. These interns never get coffee or file paperwork (unless it's their own) and work alongside professional reporters digging through public records and interviewing local politicians. Back in the office, they search archives, research issues, and sort through campaign financial disclosure reports -- to name a few tasks.

Interns work 24 hrs/week at the Voice offices and are also given the opportunity to pitch and write their own stories for the Voice's news blog, Runnin' Scared. This is an unpaid position, so interns must prove they will receive credit from their university to be eligible for this position.

E-mail a resume, cover letter, and 2 clips or writing samples to barrettinternship@gmail.com
