4 Arrests in Hofstra Gang Rape

Last night it was revealed an 18-year-old Hoftstra University student was raped by five men on Sunday morning. Today police in Nassau County have picked up four suspects, one of them, 21-year-old Rondell Bedward of the Bronx, a Hofstra student. Kevin R. Taveras, 20, of Brentwood, and Stalin Felipe and Jesus L. Ortiz, 19, of the Bronx are the other suspects. All are charged with rape; Ortiz and Bedward are also charged with attempted criminal sexual acts, and Ortiz, who stole the victim's cell phone, is charged with grand larceny. In March Hofstra was the scene of a drugs and guns bust after resident advisor Gregory Sable, who was dealing out of his dorm room, was robbed by some of his clients.
