Whoops: Ronald Tackman, 54, has escaped from a pre-trial hearing
at Manhattan Supreme Court downtown, and is on the loose. He was wearing a grey three-piece suit when he bolted from the courtroom, and as he made his way down the stairs was allegedly taken for a lawyer by at least one court officer, who asked, "Counselor, what are you doing here?
" He sounds like a pip -- asked once why he committed five robberies close by his East Side home, he replied, "I'm lazy." And he's tried escaping from previous incarcerations, once with a fake gun made out of soap, once with a zip gun made out of tubes, a comb, and a rubber band. Maybe he figured he'd want to be free for his birthday, which is tomorrow.
Nonetheless, he did pull those robberies with a gun, so you might want to watch out for him. Here's a recent picture. but by now who knows; he might have pasted on a mustache and donned big plastic glasses. He's about 150 pounds, with short black hair and blue eyes.
