NY1 hosted a Manhattan D.A. candidates' debate last night, and sports fans will be interested to know they addressed the issue of Plaxico Burress, who was hounded into prison by Mayor Bloomberg. Cy Vance found the Mayor's comments "unnecessary," Richard Aborn defended them, and Leslie Crocker-Snyder said the D.A. should have moved faster on the case. Aborn and Vance also admitted to using cocaine, though not recently.

Having no televised forum in which to air their differences, Comptroller candidates John Liu and Donald Weprin mixed it up outside a West 72nd Street subway entrance -- or rather their volunteers did, insulting each other's champions ("Doesn't he look like a used car salesman?" a Liu supporter said of Weprin) while the candidates hugged and Liu proposed they wrestle for the office.

In the Public Advocate's race, Bill de Blasio received the only endorsement that matters, that of Steve Buscemi.
