Somebody Got Murdered: Shooting Survivor Shot Again, Fatally

DATE: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 12:20 a.m.
LOCATION: Corner of 199 Street and Nashville Blvd., Queens.

Last March, Shante Graham, a 22-year-old Queens woman, was shot and wounded at a house on the above corner.

She survived. Then, early last Saturday, she returned to the same house, where once again she was hit by gunfire. This time, she was fatally wounded in the chest. She was taken to Franklin Hospital where she was declared dead.

Graham's mother told the Daily News that her daughter was still carrying bullet fragments in one side from the previous shooting. "Shante was full of life and it was cut too short," she said.

A 20-year-old woman was struck in the head, and a a man in his 20s was shot in one hand during the melee. The police did not release their identities.

The police are searching for two men who fled the scene in a car. No arrests so far.
