About 1 a.m. Sunday morning, Carmen Huertas was driving seven girls to a slumber party at her home when she lost control of the car at West 96th Street, crashed into a guardrail and a tree, and flipped the vehicle. Everyone was hurt -- some of the passangers have broken bones, for which they were hospitalized -- but Leandra Rosado (pictured), 11, was thrown from the car and died of her injuries. Police charged Huertas with vehicular manslaughter and DWI. They say her blood alcohol level was measured by breathalyzer at 0.132; the legal limit is 0.08. The group was apparently proceeding from a birthday party in Chelsea, where Huertas was alleged to have been drinking, to her Bronx home.
