Ex-Mets GM Suspended from ESPN for Affair with Stalker-PA

The Mets can't get a break -- well, ever, but today has been especially rough for them. First we heard about their fresh implication in the Madoff scandal. Now, joining, the list of ex-Mets in trouble (Lenny Dykstra, bankrupt; Jerry Koosman, tax evasion; Ron Darling, tax scofflaw): former Mets general manager and, so far, ESPN analyst Steve Phillips has been suspended from the network on suspicion of an affair with a production assistant.

Phillips is married, and the affair seems not to have gone well: according to police reports, the assistant, Brooke Hundley (Ithaca College '08), had taken to contacting his wife (leaving a note on her windshield describing Phillips' intimate birthmarks) and their son, who says Hundley "flirtatiously complimented me" and asked "inappropriate questions" about his parents ("Do they sleep in the same bed? Do you think they will be getting a divorce?").

While with the Mets Phillips had previously settled a sexual harassment action brought by a Mets employee.
