Quanaya Tyler and her brother Rodney had not been getting along and their family's move to new lodgings at Gordon Street in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island only exacerbated the tension. Sunday morning around 11 a.m. they got into a dispute, and police say Quanaya, 17, grabbed two knives -- a butcher knife and a steak knife -- and attacked Rodney, 14. Their mother, who has six other children to deal with, tried to intervene but Quanaya just reached around her to get at Rodney. He was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is listed in critical but stable condition. Quanaya has been charged with first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
