After 13-year-old Kevin Miller (pictured) was shot in the head as he left Campus Magnet Humanities and the Arts High, aka Andrew Jackson High, in Cambria Heights to get some McDonald's on Friday, cops picked up as a person of interest one of the school's football players, Nmesoma Okafor, whose mother, a nurse, was working on Miller at the Long Island Jewish Hospital, where the boy later died. Okafor was released and police continued the hunt for the shooter, finding a new suspect, 16-year-old Nnonso Ekwegbalu, on Sunday. Commissioner Raymond Kelly says Ekwegbalu was quarreling with another student when he pulled a gun and hit what appear to have been unintended targets. (A 17-year-old working at a nearby car wash was shot in the leg during the incident.)

Update: Police say Ekwegbalu has confessed to the shooting.
