Rachael Ray brings the Yum-O to city public school cafeterias

Categories: Julia, Schools

Celebrity bas cuisine chef Rachael Ray is creating "healthy" recipes for New York City's public schools (the word "Yum-O" is involved. Apparently that's the name of Ray's family nutrition non-profit).

Fewer than half of New York City public schools have the cooking and fire control equipment which would allow them to legally cook over open flame, and of those not all have working equipment. Even those that do have to use precooked meat.

Ray plans to release more prefab recipes every two months.
