LOCATION: 1005 Walton Ave., The Bronx.

A Bronx man has pleaded guilty to strangling his 14-year-old daughter with an electrical cord early last year in his apartment, the Bronx District Attorney's office says.

Miguel Matias, a 35-year-old building super, admitted in court to killing his daughter Ana, who was pregnant with his unborn child. The crime took place on Feb. 16, 2008 at 1005 Walton Ave.

Matias faces 25 years-to-life in prison. Justice Steven Barrett scheduled sentencing for Nov. 4. Ana's charred remains were found in a furnace in the building. Tests later showed she was 12 weeks pregnant by her father.

Matias moved to New York after his relationship with Ana's mother ended. Despite Matias' long history of mental illness, Ana and her two siblings would often visit him on the weekends. He initially admitted to killing his daughter in a phone call to his uncle and sister. He did so again to a 911 operator.

The Daily News reported that Matias claimed he was driven to kill his daughter when he found her sending sexually suggestive text messages.
