The big news this weekend is openhousenewyork weekend, which opens up sites around New York for tours and events, all free. The upside: all free. The downside: a lot of the events are already filled up. You can find programs that are still available Saturday here, Sunday here, and kid-friendly here. Standouts include Angels with Accordians (dance performance and music) at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, making costumes for the kids at Morris-Jumel Mansion, and tours of the Central Park Arsenal, the High Bridge Water Tower, and the Little Red Lighthouse.
