Bloomberg Spent $102 Million on 2009 Race

bloomkingright.jpgNew campaign filings by the Bloomberg for Mayor campaign show that Michael Bloomberg spent $102,065,004.40 on his reelection campaign -- $183.22 for each of the 557,059 votes he received in the election. The money was all Bloomberg's. We have not seen the late filings by Democrat Bill Thompson, but as of October 19 he had reported disbursements of $6,647,347.

Bloomberg beat Thompson by 50,347 votes, so that's at least $9.2 million that wasn't wasted.
