Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was reportedly sucker-punched by an "irate fan" over the weekend after yet another embarrassing loss (this one to Connecticut). One more black eye for Notre Dame football.

The fan probably should have punched coach Charlie Weis (who will be fired any day now, despite his huge contract), but Weis is a big guy and might have hit back. Clausen has pretty good stats this season, but this would have been a big moment so he probably had little chance of connecting with a return punch.

No police reports of the supposed incident had been located as of early this morning, but the assault was said to have taken place while Clausen was dining with his parents. The suspect could be any of the 120,000 Notre Dame alums worldwide.
