Ellis Island evacuated again
A week after a transformer fire forced the evacuation of Ellis Island, it was evacuated again today for an hour and a half after a visitor found white powder on an audio headset. Visitors reported waiting an hour for boats to take them to lower Manhattan.
A Jersey City fire official said that the powder was determined to be harmless, although they haven't determined yet what it was.
