Veteran's Day Parade at 11 a.m.

Today is Veterans Day, The traditional parade starts at 11 a.m. and runs from 23rd to 57th Street along Fifth Avenue; it will include the famous Navajo Code Talkers of World War II and a dramatic flyover. The parade is still the nation's largest and includes performers from all over the area, including the Sussex Tech Raven Nation Marching Band. There are also ceremonies in Staten Island.

According to the Census Bureau there are 23.2 million former combatants in the United States, mostly from the Vietnam War; today they gets parades, a free donut at Krispy Kreme, and our thanks for their service. Image (cc) ori0nis.
