During the biggest campus massacre in U.S. history, Virginia Tech officials screwed up even worse than first thought -- and one of their biggest mistakes was no accident but a willful disgrace: They notified their own students way later than they should have. That's the crux of a revised report [PDF] on the April 16, 2007, shooting carried out by Seung-Hui Cho.
As the Times's Ian Urbina reports, "officials locked down some administrative buildings and warned their own families more than an hour and a half before the rest of the campus was alerted, according to revisions made in the state's official report on the tragedy."
