Miserable Christmas News from Around the City

Categories: Featured, Holidays

Fire up Silent Night/7 O'Clock News and let's revel in how miserable it all is:

A guy driving on Brooklyn's 27th Street near the Gowanus Expressway yesterday felt something under his car and found a corpse wrapped in plastic. Surveillance video reveals that the body was dumped there Wednesday night. The deceased is 19-year-old Daniel Vargas, who was beaten and strangled.

A group of gentlemen forcibly urged a woman from the F train at 21st St.-Queensbridge last night, and to escape them she was obliged to stab one of their number -- 29-year-old Thomas Winston, the pride of a local shelter, with many arrests for drug peddling -- several times in the chest. She got away and is being sought by cops, while Winston is cold.

Some poor lady celebrated Christmas Eve by driving through the front of a Blockbuster in Howard Beach. She's in the hospital but expected to live. The Blockbuster is inoperable for a while, though.

Sigh. Well, at least you can get a free hot dog.
