Obama Accepts Nobel; Rightbloggers Denounce Him for Some Damn Thing
![]() |
| Obama: He's given up smoking, but not the holy, sacred search for peace. |
He also said something about "satisfying purity of indignation," which brings us to our rightblogger brethren...
Presumably having other things to do, Obama did not accept a lunch date with the King of Norway (though he will visit him), and skipped some other Nobel functions. Rightbloggers, who were greatly outraged that Obama won the Prize, and now further outraged that the man they recently attacked for bowing to royals did not observe the entire Nobel protocol.
"Now The One Snubs Norwegians with Canceled Nobel Peace Prize Appearances," said Scared Monkeys. "Now Norway knows what it feels like to get some Barack Obama 'Hope & Change.'" "Tacky, rude, insensitive, and boorish," said Gates of Vienna. "It's embarrassing for Americans." "Sure, they give some meaningless peace prize to Barack Obama," cried Jammie Wearing Fool. "Don't they realize they don't matter?... They've served their role as useful idiots, so just shut up and bow down to The Obama. Besides, he's getting a bit self-conscious over bowing to royalty, in case you haven't heard."
Riehl World View suggested the President did not observe protocol because "Obama Doesn't Like White People... If you're a yellow, black, brown, red, or some other leader, or king, of color, Obama is more than happy to all but get down on his knees for you to show his respect." Right Wing News, watching the ceremony, denounced the "monstrously smug look upon [Obama's] face, reminding me more of one of the thug type football players just drafted with his chin up in the air. Football watchers know what I mean." Well, the ones in the deep South, perhaps.
Not many of them seem to have read or heard the speech yet; we'll update with their inevitable criticism.
