Post: Staten Island DA Does "Preliminary" Probe of Working Families Party, Debi Rose Campaign

debirose.jpg As previously noted, the feds have sent subpoenas to local politicians in furtherance of their investigation of the Working Families Party and Data and Field Services, who have been accused of financial improprieties in the last election. (Councilmember-elect Brad Lander just revealed that he got one, too.) Now the Post says Staten Island D.A. Daniel Donovan is doing a "preliminary review," whatever that is, of the Debi Rose council campaign, WFP's involvement in which is the basis of a Randy Mastro lawsuit, filed in October.

The Post, which has a massive hard-on for the progressive WFP, is delighted that what they call the "union-catspaw Working Families Party" is getting such attention. WFP predicts exoneration. Calls to their offices have not been returned and the DA's office has no comment. Some background here.
