Staten Island Bank Robber Caught

caughtrobber.jpg
Last week we showed a picture of a man who robbed the Northfield Bank at Hylan Plaza in Staten Island. So did the Staten Island Advance, and one of its local readers recognized the perp as a "homeless man suspected in a number of recent petty thefts in the New Dorp area," says the paper. The reader tipped the cops, who tracked Edward Trifeletti, 21, and arrested him. Turns out he has a record, and was allegedly robbing the bank to support a heroin habit. The robber only got $600, which either speaks ill of the local economy or well of the bank teller who fobbed this paltry sum off on him.

The other Staten Island bank robber featured in our roundup is still at large.
