Video: Mayor Bloomberg's Eerie, Alien Cry
This Mayor Bloomberg pitch in support of the US bid for the World Cup is only slightly weird -- alternately forced-casual and fake-intense -- until the very end, when he promises "the most memorable World Cup ever; at least, that's our gooooal," and, with the assistance of either a vocal coach or a sound engineer, holds that last vowel out a freakishly long time, making him sound like one of the aliens in the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers. We hope this leads to a series of remixes, mash-ups, and slow jams; we nominate his Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest speech as raw material.
