China to Ban Public-Space Smoking in 7 Cities

cineseposter.jpg
The anti-smoking ban pioneered in New York have finally caught on in its natural home of Red China, where the totalitarian government has ordered a ban on smoking in indoor public spaces in seven provincial capitals. It's up to the local governments of Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenyang, Harbin, Nanchang, Lanzhou and Shenzhen to enforce the ban, which it will implement in cooperation with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The CCDC promises the project will "create strict legislation," and in China that means business. Prepare for glorious revolutionary poster art featuring nicotine patches!

In related news, three personal injury lawsuits were filed against Pfizer in New York State Supreme Court today, charging that the drug-maker's anti-smoking script, Chantix, causes hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, and aggressive behavior, of which users were inadequately warned.
