Sarah Palin Falls to "Journalist," Last Rung Before "Blogger"

That Game Change book that revealed Harry Reid's damaging "Negro" comment also revealed damaging things about Sarah Palin -- for instance, that the former Republican Vice-Presidential candidate "couldn't explain why North and South Korea were separate nations" -- but no one paid any attention, because no one expected any better from her.

Now our expectations have fallen even lower: Sarah Palin has become a journalist. And not just a journalist, but a Fox News journalist. If it gets any worse, we'll be fighting her for this job.

Palin's official title is "contributor," in which capacity she will offer "political commentary and analysis," sometimes host Real American Stories, and "participate in special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting," such as impeachments and town brawls, for which she will be hoisted aloft in a clear plexiglass box, from which she will throw kisses and prayer cards.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News," Palin has announced in a statement. "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news." Yes, that's what she said. When we did that parody of her, we were trying too damn hard.
