DATE: Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2010.
LOCATION: 17 Slaight St., Port Richmond, Staten Island.

Jahaad Chesson, the accused killer of a Staten Island man told reporters yesterday he was "high as a motherfucker when I did it."

The statement kind of, sort of sounded like a confession to the murder of Anthony Illidge, of Port Richmond. But when he was questioned further by reporters...

in the exchange outside Stapleton Criminal Court, he seemed to backtrack, the Staten Island Advance reported.

"All right, listen buddy," Chesson told one reporter. He then withdrew a photograph of a kid from his pocket and showed it to reporters.

Illidge, 54, disappeared Jan. 27. He was found stabbed to death behind a townhouse less than a mile from his home. Chesson's mother lived in the same complex as Illidge. The Advance quoted police sources who said Illidge was stabbed after he caught Chesson breaking into his apartment.

"It's hard out here for a pimp," Chesson, 23, declared, adding that he thinks he has "mental problems," the Advance reported.

"If there's a doctor that's gonna see this, come see me, I need help," he said.

Chesson faces a host of charges including murder, burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and stolen property and evidence tampering.
