Bill Clinton Reportedly in Hospital (Update: Chest Pains, Stent) (Update: Two Stents!)
![]() |
The cause is unknown, but Clinton had a quadruple bypass operation in 2004. A reference to his health maintenance thereafter appeared in a Hillary Clinton campaign ad in 2008, when she kept the famously junk-food-loving former President from eating an onion ring because she was "lookin' out for ya." Bill Clinton is 64.
Details as they emerge.
Update: ABC says he was suffering chest pains, and George Stephanopoulos, formerly Clinton's communications director and presently an ABC correspondent, says he's getting a stent to relieve the difficulty. Word is that he's at Columbia Presbyterian.
Update 2: "I do wonder if Hillary will use this as an excuse to jump the listing ship of the U.S.S. Hope and Change?" says some asshole. (Sub-update: Oh Jesus Christ, Michelle Malkin...)
Update 3: Douglas Band, Clinton's aide, says Clinton got two stents and is "in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts." Well, since he's back to issuing anodyne statements, guess we don't have to worry about him.
