Rahm Emanuel Apologizes for Bad Words After Sarah Palin Chastisement

Yesterday on her Facebook page Sarah Palin attacked Obama advisor Rahm Emanuel for calling liberals who planned to attack conservative Democrats over health care "fucking retarded." This is believed to be the first time Palin has defended liberal Democrats, though she seemed more exercised by the notoriously profane Emanuel's bad language than by his targets.

"Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the 'N-word' or other such inappropriate language," said the Fox commentator, "Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities -- and the people who love them -- is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking."

Today Emanuel apologized for using the phrase. "The White House remains committed to addressing the concerns and needs of Americans living with disabilities," says a White House aide, "and recognizes that derogatory remarks demean us all."

It is assumed Emanuel stands by his use of the word "fucking."
