Two Men Shot, One Dead on the Lower East Side

LOCATION: 55 Rutgers St., Lower East Side, Manhattan
The police say two men were shot in the lobby of a public housing development. One died. One survived, but he's in critical condition. The dead man is identified only by his age, 29, and the method by which he was killed, a gunshot to the face. The wounded man was shot in the chest, and taken to Bellevue Hospital. No arrests. No identities. The investigation, as the police say, is ongoing.
