The police wanted to talk to Robert Krieg about robbing a Manhattan bank wearing a blonde wig on Thursday. They caught up with him near Penn Station yesterday at around 9:40 am. By that time, they also wanted to talk to him about the two banks he allegedly already robbed that morning.

Captain Edward Winski, the Executive Officer of the Midtown South precinct, had information from the Major Case squad that Krieg, who was homeless, hung out at Penn. He was setting up surveillance at the terminal when he bumped into the suspect buying a cup of coffee nearby. It probably wasn't his first. According to police, Krieg got an early start Saturday and hit a Chase branch and an HSBC, both on West 14 Street, before they caught up with him.

He's been charged with all those robberies, as well as three others on February 1 and one on February 3, all within walking distance of the terminal.
