Josh Olson, at SXSW, Still Won't Read Your Fucking Script

• It�s hard not to love your blog. Your issue was well broken and I can�t assist but be in agreement with your feeling. Good presentation, as well!

• Brian dear, If your book is written as poorly as your post here, then you may indeed finish your book, but I wouldn't hold your breath expecting it to get published.

• Good afternoon, I wanted to say thank you to Mr. Olson for this really eye opening article �I will not read your fucking script". I was skimming the web and ran across a few lines about Mr. Olson working on a screen play for a new Oz movie. It will be about a granddaughter of Dorothy going back to Oz to fight evil. After reading this I didn�t know if I should throw up, or be truly happy. For a couple of years now I have been writing a book, which I�m proud to say is exactly what these few lines suggested the screenplay will be about. The truly happy part is that it made me feel really good about my talent, and ability. That if what I read was true, then something I had thought of, told countless people about, something that I had sent to Publish America for consideration was going to be created into what I had dream t of. The part that made me feel sick inside was that I wasn�t going to be part of the bringing it to life. Having self doubt is part of life, spending your life doing something that you really hate and knowing that there is something else out there for you is one of the best ways I can think of to describe hell. There are a lot of really creative and talented people out there, who have natural ability to make what they feel and dream a reality. Like Mr. Olson said the lucky ones figure that out and are able to harness that creativity into something really beautiful. Mr. Olson you have never met me, nor have you ever read anything I have created, but you have giving me something that would have been just as important. Just as important as if it had been my story you read and wanted to create a screenplay out of. You have giving me a spark, that has rekindled my desire to �change my stars� (thank you Heath Ledger). I had put my book on hold for the last year, personal problems and relocating has made it difficult to write. I know how great ideas go, when ya have one you know it right away. You have to strike while the iron is hot and give it life before someone else has the same idea and does it before you. I�m going to finish my book and get it published; I know it�s a great idea.You didn�t have to read my script Mr. Olson; you didn�t even have to meet me to inspire me. Thank you for your article.
