Over 230,000 Without Power in NY Area After Northeast Storm
A northeast storm which knocked out power to almost half a million homes yesterday has left almost a quarter of a million Con Ed customers in Westchester and New York (live outage map), LIPA customers on Long Island (live outage map), and Orange and Rockland Utility customers in the Hudson Valley (live outage map) without power today. As many as 50,ooo Jersey Central Power and Light customers in north and central Jersey are also without power (live outage map).
Utilities are estimating that power will be restored to some customers as late as Tuesday.
