Toddler Sanaa Brewington Beaten to Death, Allegedly by Mom's Boyfriend

LOCATION: Inside of 820 Colgate Ave., Clasons Point, The Bronx.
A 22-month-old toddler, Sanaa Brewington, who lived in a 13th floor apartment at the above address, was found dying in her mom's apartment. She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was declared dead.
The city medical examiner later declared her death a homicide, and police arrested Ramel Green, 23, of Clay Avenue, on murder charges.Green was identified as the mother's boyfriend.
The Daily News reported that Sanaa's body was covered with bruises. She had been struck repeatedly in the chest, and suffered lacerations of her live, spleen, pancreas, and small intestine.
Green had two prior arrests, the News says. He was babysitting Sanaa at the time of the fatal assault. The News says he tried to claim to police that he had accidentally smothered the baby while sleeping.
