International Pillow Fight Day Whacks NYC in the Face
Um, head to Union Square tomorrow at 3 p.m. with your favorite headrest-cum-weapon in hand, because it's International Pillow Fight Day!!! [Squeals, giggles uncontrollably, gives wedgie]
Newmindspace, the group behind the event, touts it as part of an "urban playground movement, a playful part of the larger public space movement."
And just imagine -- somewhere, out there, other urban playground enthusiasts will be beating one another upon the head with soft objects in far-flung locations from Ho Chi Minh City to Roanoke, Virginia, just like you! Small world, isn't it?
A few tips from the masters:
+ Soft pillows only!
+ Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
+ Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.
+ Remove glasses beforehand!
+ Wait until the signal to begin.
+ Feather-free pillows only, for the numerous allergic neurotics in the tri-state area
Personally, we will be staying as far from 14th Street as possible tomorrow, but that's because we were always the one who got our bra frozen at sleepovers.
P.S.: Leftover pillows go to make beds for kittens and puppies. OMG!
