LOCATION: Parade Place & Crooke Avenue, Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.

Not often that we get a homicide so close to Prospect Park, but the police say Roland Alonzo-Castro, 18, of Arlington Avenue in Brooklyn, was found fatally stabbed on the south end, right next to the Prospect Park Tennis Center.

Alonzo-Castro had been stabbed numerous times. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The New York Times reported he was attacked by a group of men for talking with a woman in the park. They chased him to the above intersection, where they caught him and killed him.

A reader, by the way, wrote to us to say that friends of hers had been accosted twice at night in Prospect Park recently by large groups of people wearing black and resembling ninjas. To borrow from the New York Post's Cindy Adams, only in New York, kids. Only in New York.
