• In reality I share this infant's joy! I had a sudden hearing loss in June 2007. My CIs were turned on in September 2007. Amazing does not begin to describe the feeling! Here is a list of things I never want to NOT hear again: my family's voices my husband snoring my grandbabies laughing my grandbabies crying my mother's voice water running birds singing the wind myself peeing(yes, that's what I said! I actually screamed when I realized i had not heard that sound in months!) ....and yes there are issues concerning CIs in the deaf culture; when is there not issues with anything new? People doubted the viability of the first organ transplant; however I have never heard of anyone who wanted to return theirs.
