Jersey Shore's Snooki and Senator John McCain Confront Tanning Tax and Other Things That Are Totally Ruining America
Okay, so this reality television personage known as "Snooki" (a/k/a Nicole Polizzi, you probably know her as "the girl who got punched in the face on the Jersey Shore") said some things about President Obama's proposed, totally bogus tanning tax during the second season's first episode. Well, you know, that show loves to stir up intelligent political debates!
While getting spray-tanned, she expressed the following:
"I don't go tanning-tanning anymore, because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning. I feel like he did that intentionally for us. McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning, because he is pale and probably would want to be tan," Polizzi said.
(Dubious racial sentiment noted.)
And since John McCain is from Arizona, where tanning (or not being tan, as the case may be) is very important, and also because he is very old and a bit feeble and might have thought this Snooki person was an old war buddy, he has gotten involved, allegedly tweeting:
"@Sn00ki u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama's tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!"
Now, since we suspect that McCain actually does not tweet for himself, much less know who "The Situation" is (though he does reportedly adore The Hills), we can't help but think this is probably a quite hilarious PR move on the part of some McCain staffer. But then again, that wacky McCain has a habit of doing the unexpected. John, how come you never write us back?
