Lady Viagra Gets a Thumbs-Down From the FDA
Bummer. Turns out that the proposed sexual desire drug flibanserin is actually not going to be the little pink pill for women. Per the New York Times, the drug, which was under consideration from the Reproductive Health Drugs Advisory Committee to the FDA, was deemed "not robust enough to justify the risks" -- namely, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue, at least two of which have been known to occur from frequent romping about (or so we hear). No, not the middle one. 
Well, maybe that depends ...
Boehringer Ingelheim, the German pharmaceutical company that created the drug, was given a pat on the back and a supportive "keep trying" from their FDA naysayers -- which was probably just as satisfying as a woman who lacks sexual desire getting that sort of thing from a helpful partner in the ole boudoir.
Of course, since scientists didn't seem to know much more about why the drug worked (when it did work), beyond its ability to "fiddle with a woman's brain chemicals," maybe there's no rush here. Might as well stick with chocolate and oysters for the time being. Or -- er -- maybe not the oysters, so much.
