MTA Fares Up, MTA Service Down, MTA Salaries...Up?

Over the last year or two, we've seen the price of a single ride Metrocard go from $2 to $2.25, and the service on all the places we use that Metrocard to get us go down and thin out. So how're we supposed to react when we hear that MTA salaries are up, and that LIRR conductors are making $100K a year on average?
The report by the E $5.2 billion.Long Island Rail Road employees were among the highest paid. The average salary for conductors was just over $100,000. One conductor made almost $240,000, but a LIRR spokesman says the conductor retired and got a one-time payout that included sick time and unused vacation time. An MTA spokesman says the overall increase was due to raises already promised to the unions.
Well, what can you do? You can keep taking the trains knowing that your money is making people who just five years ago walked off the job during one of the busiest weeks of the year quite happy and sit pretty with the knowledge that this group of people basically has New Yorkers by the balls, and so, you pay them whatever they want. That's what you do.
