Let's Just Give Up and Accept That the Bedbugs Have Won
Bedbugs have now infested the AMC movie theater in Times Square. Yes, it's horrifying. But at this point, the idea that bedbugs are all over the damn place is not new. Let's look at all the places that have been infested by the little critters this summer:
- Hollister
- Abercrombie
- Victoria's Secret
- Brooklyn DA's office
- Mid-Manhattan branch, New York Public Library
- Hachette Book Group offices
- Elle offices
- Time Warner Center
- Kings County Hospital triage room
- 1 in 10 New Yorkers
- This unlucky dude
Pretty impressive, right? The bedbugs are here, they're expanding their operations to diverse industries, and they're very hardy little guys, capable of just hanging out for a year without feeding. Instead of the widespread bedbug hysteria that's been happening all summer, isn't it smarter to just make them happy? I, for one, welcome our new bedbug overlords, as long as they don't come anywhere close to my apartment.
