Mets Suspend Francisco Rodriguez for Two Days as Punishment for Assault Arrest
His 53-year-old father-in-law' was hospitalized with a scrape on his face and swelling above his right eyebrow...Both Pena and his daughter have obtained an order of protection against Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is known for his temper flares; he clashed with Mets bullpen coach Randy Niemann earlier this year and with Yankees reliever Brian Bruney and former Mets executive Tony Bernazard last year.
The suspended player is due in court next month and could face up to a year in prison if convicted.
Topping off the Mets' terrible week, the woman who accused Johan Santana of sexual assault last year has filed a civil suit in Lee County, Florida. Looks like a few Mets players could use some coaching off the field, not that their gameplay (57-57) is that much better.
