Brooklyn Parents: Stick Your Kid in the New Tom Hanks, Jonathan Safran Foer Movie

Spotted in Park Slope by Runnin' Scared friend @stvspl: a casting notice for "9-13 year-old Caucasian boys" to appear in the upcoming Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's 2005 novel about a nine-year-old boy's life in the aftermath of September 11th. With the names already attached to this project, forget the coop, Brooklyn parents -- this could be your (child's) big break!

The Internet Movie Database has Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock signed on for the film, to be directed by Stephen Daldry (The Reader, The Hours) with a screenplay by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump). In other words, it's a big deal! Start running lines with your little runt now and the kid might just end up the next Elijah Wood. Meaning creepy, twee and rich.
