Girl Loses Alligator Heads on D Train

AlligatorHead08-22pix300.jpg
Since we're in festive spirit (or something) today, and since we never say no to the lost alligator beat, we're helping a girl out. Via the New York Times City Room, a woman named Emily, who lives in Canada but has been visiting the city, has submitted what can only be called a cry for help. Apparently, while riding the D train -- after doing extensive, and intriguing, Christmas shopping for her family -- she lost two bags "containing two preserved alligator heads, three small animal skulls, an antique lock, a record, and three CDs."

Reports the Times,

Just before midnight, she got on a northbound D at the Broadway-Lafayette station. She got off at the end of the line, 205th Street in the Bronx, about 40 minutes later -- minus two brown-paper bags containing the above items, which she had bought at the Evolution Store in SoHo and elsewhere.

Should you be zoologically included, the skulls are of a former mink, coyote, and raccoon. If you see any of those items, please email her at corvid_noir@hotmail.com. Email us, too...we've never seen a preserved alligator head in person.

But, really, Emily, of all the cities to lose your alligator heads in, New York is really the very best. If that's any consolation.
